the age of 12 |

BARIUM MEAL TEST and/or SMALL BOWEL
No solid or liquid foods must be taken after 8 p.m. the evening before the test.
The examination of the small bowel can take from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

BARIUM ENEMA
At least two days prior to the exam, buy two packages of "Pico-Salax" at the
drugstore. Follow the instructions given on the packages. When you call to make
your appointment, be sure to mention if you are diabetic.
Liquids permitted: water, clear tea or black coffee (with no milk or
other dairy products), fruit juices without pulp, bouillon, or soft drinks.
