Q: Is a medical prescription required to have X-rays?
A: Yes, but the prescription does not have to be on an IMAGIX form.
Q: Why do I need a prescription if I am paying for services not covered
by the RAMQ?
A: Public health legislation in Quebec stipulates that any procedure performed
in a medical clinic must be ordered by a professional who is qualified to issue
such a prescription under the law governing the professional order to which he
or she belongs. .
Q: Do you have doctors I can see to get a prescription?
A: No, unfortunately you must see your family doctor or go to an emergency
clinic.
Q: Will my medical insurance plan reimburse me for the costs involved?
A: Some exams are covered by the RAMQ. The cost of the exams that are not
covered is generally reimbursed by most group insurance programs. You will have
to consult your insurance contract since each plan is different.
Q: What are the costs of the exams at your clinics?
A: Each exam has a different price. Contact our call centre, and we will be
happy to confirm the price of your exams if they are not covered by the RAMQ.
Q: How long do I have to wait to get my results?
A: Test results that are requested on an urgent basis can usually be forwarded
to your referring physician on the same day. In other cases, the results are
sent to the referring physician usually the next day, but it may take up to 72
hours, depending on the type of tests requested.
Q: Does it take a long time to get an appointment?
A: For X-rays, no appointments are required. You can simply show up at any of
our clinics. For all exams other than X-rays, an appointment is required. Call
our appointment centre and we will try to schedule your exam at the location and
time most convenient for you.
